JOE & THE JUICE is making a direct play for the morning occasion with its new Steak ’N’ Egg Wrap, part of a coordinated breakfast rollout launched on September 9, 2026. The Copenhagen-founded chain says the new hot egg range is being introduced at selected Nordic stores, alongside larger rollouts in the UK and US, while all 529 locations receive new cold breakfast bowls. The Steak ’N’ Egg Wrap combines steak, scrambled egg, Italian-style hard cheese, Cholula hot sauce and spinach in a hot wrap designed for portable breakfast. Denmark is part of the Nordic activation: JOE promoted a Copenhagen run-club event at House 11 on September 12 where guests could sample the new breakfast range. The launch matters because JOE is treating breakfast as a strategic growth occasion rather than a minor menu extension. It shows a juice-and-coffee-led chain moving deliberately into hot, protein-forward food to capture more morning traffic and compete more directly with established breakfast QSR players.
Steak and Eggs Go Portable
The Steak ’N’ Egg Wrap is built around a compact, protein-led breakfast format. JOE & THE JUICE lists scrambled egg, steak, Italian-style hard cheese, Cholula hot sauce and spinach as the core ingredients, all served in a hot wrap made for eating on the move. The combination balances rich egg and beef with salty cheese, leafy freshness and the acidity and heat of Cholula, giving the product a more savoury, substantial profile than the chain’s better-known juices, coffee and toasted sandwiches. JOE also allows the same savoury breakfast combinations to be ordered as bowls in markets carrying the full range, creating a second format for customers who do not want a wrap. The product sits alongside the Turkey Scramble and Egg & Avo options, plus yoghurt- and grain-based bowls, functional smoothies, coffee, matcha and juice. Strategically, JOE is assembling these products into a complete morning proposition rather than releasing isolated breakfast items. The relevant trends are protein-forward breakfast, portable hot food, menu modularity, functional morning routines and daypart expansion by chains that historically over-indexed toward lunch and afternoon visits.
Why JOE Wants the Morning
The genuine innovation is less about steak and eggs themselves than about how JOE & THE JUICE is packaging them into a new growth platform. The company says mornings currently account for a smaller share of its business than lunch and afternoon, and its own survey found that one in four people still do not think of JOE as a morning destination. That gives the launch a clear commercial rationale: build a repeatable breakfast habit around hot food, coffee, smoothies and bowls. The likely target is commuters, office workers, gym-goers and younger consumers seeking a portable but more substantial breakfast; that audience assessment is interpretation rather than a stated company segmentation. Scalability is strong because the chain has standardised a small family of egg-based builds that can be served as wraps or bowls, while the cold breakfast range is already available across all 529 stores. The wider signal is that beverage-led QSR brands are increasingly using protein-rich food to extend into underdeveloped dayparts instead of relying only on new drinks.
